All Bekedo products are built on The Shredder Principle™ — your data, your school, your rules.
// the principle
Three rules. No exceptions.
Rule 01
Host but never hold.
We run the tool. The data stays yours. We are never in possession of what belongs to someone else.
Rule 02
No retention by design.
Nothing is stored. Not because we promise it. Because we built it that way. The architecture is the guarantee.
Rule 03
School pays. School owns.
The moment your school signs on, that data belongs to your school. Full stop. No exceptions. No asterisks.
POPIA compliant by design — not by policy.
“Build tools that solve real problems. Keep the data safe. It was never ours to begin with — so we make sure you keep it.”
The Shredder Principle™ — Privacy by design, not by policy.
// who we are
Bekedo was built by an educator turned technologist who spent years inside the systems
that needed fixing — schools, IT departments, under-resourced classrooms.
The tools exist because the problems are real, the data shows it,
and the people experiencing it deserve better than what was available.
The name Bekedo comes from two isiXhosa roots:
uncedo (help, assistance — the act of giving yourself to help another)
and beka (to place forward, to put something into the world).
